L3. In The Story of an Hour”, why does Mrs. Mallard die in the end (other than her medical heart condition)? Consider the irony of the doctors statement that she died of The joy that kills.Give evidence for your interpretation. Answer in 1-2 pages.
L4. Why is setting important in A Rose for Emily”? Give evidence from the story (and from reading in context, if helpful) to support your answer. Answer in 1-2 pages.
