This is a Discussion essay assignment that should include a summary to introduce the company and its situation. Then in subsequent paragraphs, complete your essay using the following approach.

Use the readings from Chapters 1a 3 to support your answer. For clarity in your essay, provide the approach to which you are responding.

Approach 3: Consider the list of Management Guidelines (p. 96) in relation to AT&T and answer the following questions:

What are the environmental changes faced by AT&T as described in the case? How have these changes affected basic AT&T strategy?

How have these changes affected the human resource strategy of AT&T?

Would it be easier for a smaller company, such as a locally owned restaurant in your community, to know and understand its environment than for AT&T? Explain your answer.

Has AT&T performed well in dealing with these changes? If so, in what ways?
