Ase Study-Decision Making Based on Mission and Vision of an Organization

Here are some suggestions that I hope you will consider for your next assignment. You are certainly on the right track, but your generalizations of the problem are limiting to the issues of transition and flow. You tend to move from idea to idea and you do not have good paragraph development. Remember, that the introduction is the most important lead of your paper. You can get this directly from the assignment and this will start your transition flowing from one idea to another. As you know this is an essay composition, so you may want to get rid of the headers and have the paragraphs flow.

When you use numbers, data, figures etc, these are not something that you have developed. It is material from another author, so....you need to cite as a quote. (Author, year, p. #).
Generally, citations should have the
last name of the author(s) and the
year of publication. Direct quotations
should include the page number
(paragraph or heading section for
works without page numbers
When you have a composition, 90% is to be original information and 5% validation just be aware of the dates of your research. Your research must not be older than 5 years.

Case Study
The president of Community Medical Center was having a meeting with the chief of surgery concerning an operating room nurse who many thought had HIV/AIDS. The majority of surgeons in the surgical department had become quite concerned and requested the operating room nurse be removed from his duties in this department. The chief of surgery firmly stated that if the nurse was not removed from the operating room, then a significant number of surgeons (approximately 50) would admit all of their patients to the Community Medical Centeras local rival hospital across the city. Such activities would not only affect the operating room, but also the emergency room, surgical inpatient floors, surgical ICU, and clinical departments such as radiology, clinical laboratory, respiratory, rehabilitation, pharmacy, etc. The possible effects could be millions of dollars in lost revenue and the immediate layoff of hundreds of employees.
When Community Medical Center approached the nurse involved about relocating to a non-patient area with the same pay, shift, and working hours, he refused to accept the offer. In addition, he had contacted a labor attorney specializing in the healthcare industry and mentioned that the attorney had advised that they would file federal litigation in accordance to violation of several federal laws.
Because of an internal leak, the president of Community Medical Center was contacted by the editor and publisher of the main local newspaper about this event. It was most unusual for the editor and publisher to discuss a story instead of sending a reporter but they indicated that this story was too important and could have national media exposure. They gave the president 24 hours to provide a news release. Such media attention would most likely not only have instant concern of patients and families who were presently scheduled for surgery but also long-term damage of the institutionas strong reputation for quality of medical care.
You are the president of Community Medical Center so what decision-making models will be most effective in this situation and how are you going to communicate your decision to the surgeons, medical center employees, governing board, and to the public?
