1. What were the causes of the Civil War? Give some of the long enduring friction points as well as the events that occurred immediately before the war broke out with the firing on Ft. Sumter. Was it an Inevitable Conflictas some called it?A  What do you think of the way Lincoln handled the situation from the time he won the election until Virginia seceded?

2. Why did the North win and the South lose the Civil War? Was there any way the South could have won? Beyond what point do you think the South could not possibly have won? What might this country have been like had the South won? How would it be now?
