Compose an essay that discusses and analyzes Ronald Wallace s repletion of words in the poem, Grandmother Grace. You may want to pay close attention to the words at the end of each line and any other images that are repeated in the poem. Your essay should have a clear thesis and be well organized.
One way to approach the assignment is to use the six key words: kiss, time, sink, summer, Iowa, Jesus, and summer and trace and analyze the use of each one throughout the poem. Explain and analyze how each time the word is used the meaning of the word changes, and explain the words overall contribution to the meaning of the poem.
In addition to lines from the poem be sure to incorporate at least two other research sources into your essay using correct MLA format. Your works cited page therefore should include a source (look on the web) for the poem itself, and at least two other entries.
Your quotes do not always have to be complete lines. You can quote only part of a line. For example: My heart would sink(19) or Sealed ...with a kiss(23).
The essay should be at least 3 1/2 pages long, and have at least 6-12 quotes from the poem and 3-4 entries on the Works Cited page including the poem itself.
