Convergence of transportation congestion and transportation security at U.S. seaports
Research Project will be on the convergence of transportation congestion and transportation security at U.S. seaports. The United States has over 300 ports and everyone of them is different in some form or fashion. In light of the events on September 11, 2001, security is a big issue at U.S. seaports. The congestion adds to this concern because the more congested they are the harder it is to keep them secure. If movement of freight is slowed due to congestion and security concerns, it can harm our economy.
