Developing and producing a visual project that reflects effective visual communication

Final Project
The purpose of this project is to provide an opportunity for the student to demonstrate an understanding and ability to apply the course content by developing and producing a visual project that reflects effective visual communication. The final project is due in Week Five and is worth 30 points with the completion of both the written and visual components.
Focus of the Final Project
Communicate one (1) complex idea, body of information, or message using three (3) different approaches to visual communication. Some examples of a?approaches to visual communicationa? include:
a? Information graphics
a? Symbols and signs
a? Shapes and colors
a? Images and groups of images
a? Charts and graphs
a? Typography
a? Cartoons and illustrations
In addition to the visuals, write a two to three page paper reflecting on why each approach is effective in communicating your message, and which of your approaches you feel would be most effective. Explain your reflective responses. Your visuals must clearly and effectively communicate the message and reflect the application of material covered in this course. Your Final Project must provide a clear and rational analysis of the effectiveness of each visual in communicating the message.
Writing the Final Project

The Final Project:
a? Must be two to three double-spaced pages in length (excluding the cover and reference pages) and formatted according to APA style as outlined in your approved style guide.
a? Must include an introductory paragraph with a succinct thesis statement.
a? Must address the topic of the paper with critical thought.
a? Must conclude with a restatement of the thesis and a conclusion paragraph.
a? Must use at least two scholarly resources.
a? Must use APA style as outlined in your approved style guide to document all sources.
a? Must include, on the final page, a Reference List that is completed according to APA style as outlined in your approved style guide.
