Enetics: Unit 9: Molecular Evolution, Population Genetics, and Complex Inheritance

This week you will turn in your Final Project Part 3 a Final Report. This report will be a culmination of your quarter-long work researching and organizing information about your genetic topic as well as a synthesis and application of the genetic concepts covered during the term.

By the end of Unit 9, you will complete a 4 page report that integrates the concepts you learned during the term. This paper must include the following elements:

TOPIC I CHOOSE: BREAST CANCER FOR THIS ASSIGNEMT

1.A general introduction/description of your topic.
2.Detailed descriptions of how each of the following concepts applies to your topic:
a.Heredity (at least two concepts from Units 2, 3, or 4).
b.Molecular Genetics (at least two concepts from Units 5, 6, or 7).
c.Genetic Variation (at least two concepts from Units 8 or 9).
3.A balanced discussion of bioethical issues involved in your topic.
Basic Writing Expectations:

1.Your report should be at least 5-pages, not counting the title or reference pages.
2.Include an APA-formatted title page, double-spaced, font size 10 or 12.
3.Include a highly developed viewpoint/thesis, purpose, and exceptional content.
4.Demonstrate superior organization: use logic.
5.Make certain that your paper is free of grammar and spelling errors.
6.Avoid plagiarism.
7.Use the APA style for all in-text citations and references.
8.Always include an introduction and conclusion.
GRADING RUBRIC: Student work demonstrates recognition of the existence of mutations and genetic variation. The student does not demonstrate an understanding of processes that lead to mutation, the existence of repair mechanisms, or the existence of non-mutational mechanisms that lead to genetic variation.
