Eorge Berkeley and his famous work A Treatise Concerning the Principles of Human Knowledge

Students are required to submit one essay on a topic of their choice. Students are strongly advised to meet the instructor at some point midway through their work and to submit unfinished drafts for comment. This procedure is likely to improve the final essay significantly. All submitted material, including drafts, must be typed in double-spaced pages, without hand-written corrections. The essay for this course is a research paper and a substantial amount of research and writing time should be devoted to it. At least 5 or 6 bibliographical items are expected. The required length is 8-10 pages of text.

The research paper should explain Berkleys A Treatise Concerning the Principles of Human Knowledge and examine the critiques as well as praise, from various sources, on his work.
