BACKGROUND
United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is the UNs global development network, advocating for change and connecting countries to knowledge, experience and resources to help people build a better life. We are on the ground in 177 countries and territories, working with governments and people on their own solutions to global and national development challenges. As they develop local capacity, they draw on the people of UNDP and our wide range of partners that can bring about results.
Since 2010, Learning Resources Centre-Office of Human Resources, Bureau of Management has been tasked to design, develop and deliver leadership development and management skills training prorgamme. The overarching goal of the programme is to foster a cadre of individuals who are able to understand their role in creating enabling environments where all team members can contribute to UNDPas development work towards the achievement of the MDGs and beyond. The programme aims to develop requisite managerial skills and competencies for UNDP supervisors, managers and leaders in order to enable them to effectively contribute to the positioning of UNDP as a world-class knowledge-based organization.
