Assignment #5: Design and develop curriculum or instructional content for adult learners (Part 2 of project)

This assignment is the second component of a three-part project that will continue over the remainder of the course. The purpose of the overall project is to systematically develop a lesson plan for teaching the application of Bloomas Taxonomy to a target population. In other words, you are expected to use Bloomas Taxonomy to develop a lesson plan that could be used to teach Bloomas Taxonomy to a specific target population.

Determine the instructional setting. Using the learning objectives developed in Assignment #4, determine the appropriate instructional setting for each objective. Provide an instructionally sound rationale to support your selection for each learning objective.

Determine the learning activities. Using the learning objectives developed in Assignment #4 and their respective instructional settings, determine the learning activities needed to promote mastery of the learning objectives. The learning activities are to include teaching strategies, and student activities, instructional media and materials. Using Attachment E, determine the learning activities using the following steps:

Insert the learning objectives developed in Assignment #4 in the left hand column entitled a?Learning Objectives.a?
1. Review the verb, conditions, and performance criteria for each learning objective.
2. Review the instructional setting selected for each learning objective.
3. Based on the conditions, action statements, level of accuracy required by the learner, and the instructional setting, determine the teaching strategies, instructional media and materials, and student activities for each learning objective. The various learning activities must be consistent with level of Bloomas Taxonomy for which the learning objective is written.
4. Insert the various learning activities into the appropriate column of the template.

Develop a lesson plan. Using the results of the content analysis from Assignment #4, the learning objectives from Assignment #4, the learning activities from this assignment, and a template, develop a lesson plan for an instructional unit on applying Bloomas taxonomy. The lesson plan is to relate to your selected target population and is to include learning objectives, a detailed content outline, detailed instructional strategies, and detailed student activities The content of lesson plan must facilitates student mastery of learning objectives. Using Attachment F, develop a lesson plan using the following steps:

1. Retrieve the results of the content analysis and the learning objectives from Assignment #4, various learning activities from this assignment, and the lesson plan template (Attachment F).
2. Revise the learning objectives from Assignment #4 based on feedback from the instructor.
3. Complete the cover page of the lesson plan template using the content analysis and revised learning objectives from Assignment #4 as well as the instructional setting previously identified in this assignment.
4. Using page 2 of the lesson plan template, insert each learning objective separately in an individual row under the column entitled a?Instructional Content.a? Continue to page 3, 4 and so on as needed.
5. Remember that each learning objective originated from a knowledge statement or essential concept identified during the content analysis portion of Assignment #4. Also, remember that each knowledge statement or essential concept was based on responses to the question, a?What do I want my selected target population to know about the topic (Applying Bloomas Taxonomy of Cognitive Objectives)?a?
6. For each learning objective, outline the instructional content including supporting knowledge, facts, concepts, or applications that your target population would need to know to demonstrate mastery of the corresponding learning objective. Include this outline below the respective learning objective.
7. For each learning objective, retrieve the instructional or teaching strategies previously identified in this assignment. Insert the respective teaching strategies, materials, and media for each learning objective under the column a?Instructor Activitiesa? in the lesson plan template (Attachment F).
8. For each learning objective, retrieve the student activities previously identified in this assignment. Insert the respective student activities for each learning objective under the column a?Student Activitiesa? in the lesson plan template (Attachment F).

Deliverables: Provide the instructor the following deliverables:
1. A table with each learning objective, an instructional setting for that learning objective, and a rationale for each selection.
2. The completed Learning Activities template (Attachment E).
3. The completed Lesson Plan template (Attachment F).Outcome(s) assessed: a? Design and develop curriculum or instructional content for adult learners.
a? Use technology and information resources to research issues in teaching and motivating adult learners.
