Media mapping and analysis of a contemporary health issue

Contemporary health issue will be based on Mental Health in the UK (United kingdom)


This should be the structure of the assignment;
a? Introduction
a? Define your terms/scale of the problem
a Use stats/research/evidence
a? Demonstrate your knowledge of how your chosen topic has been dealt with
a Government?
a Gov response enough/satisfactory/effective?
a What does civil society say (BHF)?
Why do these organisations choose to tackle the problem in this/these ways?

2,000 words on:
a? Critically appraise the Media response as the issue has developed, with examples provided. You can use statistics and diagrams to demonstrate your research into this aspect of the assessment; these should be presented in an appendix.
a? Analyse the policies and research evidence supporting the Public Health and / or Health Promotion in the UK response to the topic you choose to explore.
a? Discuss the influence the government agenda had/has.
a? You should discuss relevant Public Health and / or Health Promotion theories and models to support your discussion.
a? Use public opinion poll data to demonstrate public views of the issue.
a? Show understanding on how the government has attempted to address this problem.
a? Show how media coverage of the issue has changed within the time period (2007-2011)
a? Comment on how the media coverage relates to;
The changes in policy from the government
Opinions of key organisations (WHO, Department of Health etc)
National and Global events
