Hanging gear in South Africa: the succession debate and a resurgent Left

The dissertation should consider how the neo-liberal GEAR macro-economic framework adopted by the South African in 1996 is facing serious challenges in the light of the succession debates in the country and an emboldened Left, especially following Zumas victory over Mbeki as the leader of the ruling African National Congress.
