Hildren of Domestic Violence: Learning and School Performance

In this course, you have the opportunity to research a topic of your choice in the field of educational psychology. Topics may include the theories of learning, developmental issues related to learning, or current issues in education. Topics might be related to socio-cultural diversity motivation, gender, the psychological aspect of an area of learning, student-teacher interactions, or the role of assessment in learning.

The paper is to be 1,800 to 2,000 words (approximately 10 pages, doubled spaced, using 12 point Times New Roman font) in length and to be written and documented according to the standards of the American Psychological Association (APA format, 6th Edition). Guidelines should be strictly adhered to so please be sure to pay close attention to the way you write (using 3rd person), and using APA format for the cover page, reference page, and all in text citations, paraphrases, and references. The cover page, abstract and reference page do not count towards the page/word total.

The rigors of a research paper demand that you include current peer reviewed (scholarly) journal articles from acceptable journal sources. Historical references should use original source material when possible. A minimum of three Internet resources may be included, but these should be sources specifically related to the topic, rather than general encyclopedias (such as Wikipedia), dictionaries, or generic information sources such as Ask.com. A ten page paper should use approximately 10 resources/references.

Project 2 is worth 20% of your final grade.

Domestic Violenceis a fine topic but be sure to relate it to its affects on learning and school performance to relate it to this course. You really need to identify your peer reviewed research sources.
