Hinese diasporas: identity and its influence

this is a research proposal (introduction part with a brief review of relevant summary) that focus on the identity formation process of Chinese diaspora in the US and how does this identity influence the flow of knowledge and capital. According to the conventional definition, diasporas should be a group of people who left home because of slavery, poverty and other misfortunes. However, this trend altered as we embrace a new wave of globalization. For example, say if there is an investor who serves for a venture capital firm in the US but who is Chinese, and he can invest a huge amount of money. If there is no enough opportunities in the US, then he could probably invest this money in China, other than India or other equally prosperous markets.
