Task Description:
Choose a murder case that was heard in the NSW Supreme Court and write a critical analysis of the decision in this matter.

** In your answer include the following:
PART A: A General Discussion of the facts of the case.
i?? What was the case about? Who were the parties involved in the case? In which courtroom was this case heard? Who was the judge, the offenderaccused? What were the key facts presented in this case? Which legal issues did the court focus upon? What was the final decision of the court?

PART B: A Critical Analysis of the case, was justice achieved?
i?? Evaluate the effectiveness of the legal system in achieving justice for the victim, the victimi??s family, the offender and society. In your answer also consider the purposes of punishment for criminal offences, issues of social inequality e.g. poverty or racial discrimination.

i?? You should choose a case that you understand and that is of interest to you.
i?? The LIAC Crime Library at the State Library in Macquarie Street, Sydney, is a useful starting point. Lawlink is also useful. The Supreme Court of NSW website, as well as the NSW Case Law site are helpful.
i?? At the beginning of your assessment task there should be an assessment title page and an anti-plagiarism statement. You will find both of these on the Study Smart site for this subject.
i?? Your assignment must be entered into TURNITIN. Your teacher will notify you when turnitin is available.
