Imme Shelter and the 1960s counter culture

Your Final Project should demonstrate your understanding of key concepts that have been explored throughout the semester (such as appropriation, mass production of culture, identity, authenticity, postmodernity, consumerism etc.) and your ability to apply them to the analysis of social music phenomena. Your final should be presented in the form of a blog that is equal to the length of an 8-10 page, Times New Roman or Arial font, 12 point, double spaced paper. We are using the blog format to allow for ease of linking to media such as film, music and artwork. Projects should use at least 7 sources. Sources must be academic journal articles, books or other printed/posted citable sources. A project that cites 10 songs/films/works of art and 1 scholarly article will not be judged as having 11 sources.
