Disaster Relief Assessment
For the Case Assignment please complete the following tasks:
Briefly discuss the three most important needs that must be assessed immediately when preparing specific plans to provide relief to an area affected by a major disaster. (Be sure to consider the purpose of a plan, as well as, the importance of an effective organizational structure.)
Discuss any public health needs that must be considered when preparing specific plans to provide relief to an area affected by a major disaster if NOT covered in the first task, above.
Discuss how race/ethnicity and class issues should be handled during relief operations. Support your position with references, or examples. Do you believe that this is an issue which should be part of the planning process for disaster relief?
Please use examples of incidents that occurred to support your position.

Case Assignment Expectations
Length: Case assignments should be at least pages.
References: At least two references should be included from academic sources (e.g. peer-reviewed journal articles). Required readings are included. Quoted material should not exceed 10% of the total paper (since the focus of these assignments is critical thinking). Use your own words and build on the ideas of others. When material is copied verbatim from external sources, it MUST be enclosed in quotes. The references should be cited within the text and also listed at the end of the assignment in the References section (preferably in APA format).
Organization: Subheadings should be used to organize your paper according to question

Critical Thinking: The paper integrates your understanding of an organized response
Objectivity (e.g. avoid use of first person and subjective bias)
