THE SECOND PAPER WILL DISCUSS SENIORS, BABY BOOMERS AND ONE SUBCULTURE OF YOUR CHOICE-WRITE ON ALL THREE! WHEN WRITING ABOUT A SUBCULTURE DO NOT WRITE ABOUT AFRICAN-AMERICANS, HISPANIC-AMERICANS OR ASIAN-AMERICANS!).
In each paper include:
Demographic info for each cohort: how many are there, what are the years that include the demo, are they married, what is their educational status, are they spenders or savers, etc; include info a marketer would need to target each cohort for marketing purposes; (12 points, 4 for each demo).
Attitude: what was going on as each cohort came of age? How did what was going on impact their attitude, how do they feel about the critical issues (you decide what those are) of the day? (12 points, 4 for each demo).
Spending: how much does each cohort spend as a group each year? The spending power of the cohort is important since it is the reason marketers are anxious to target the demograhic. Do/have they saved? (12 points, 4 for each demo).

Marketing: what should the message be to each cohort and what media would you suggest be used to best reach them? (12 points, 4 for each demo)
Cite in text: VERY IMPORTANT! the reader wants to know, as they are reading, where you got the info you are presenting! Include the source info in the text and use quotation marks as required. (6 points)
Reference Page: list your references: author (last name first, alphabetical); title of article from Net or paper, mag, etc; name of web site or book, mag, paper, etc; date the info was published; the name of the publisher and the complete URL linking directly to your source so the reader can easily find your source if s/he desires to do so. (6 points)
Writing: use spell check, write complete sentences, properly punctuate your work, etc. (3 points)
When writing about a subculture do NOT include any group that was discussed in either of the first two papers (you will discover that some sources ID the various cohorts with different names (labels). Do not write about African-Americans, Hispanic Americans or Asian-Americans.
By the way: France is NOT an American subculture, nor is China, Great Britain, etc. (Yes, I have gotten papers presenting France, Great Britain and China as American subcultures).
Which ever subculture you choose to present, be sure there is enough info about the subculture so you can provide all the info required. If there is not sufficient info choose another subculture.
As we engage in our online disscussionI may refer to a variety of potential subcultures you could write about (though you certainly dont have to write about any subculture I mention).
