Iscuss the development and proposed function, in health and disease, of Th17 cells.
CD4+ T cells have been shown to differentiate into two subsets: Th1 cells, characterized mainly by the secretion of IFN-y, and Th2 cells, characterized mainly by the secretion of IL-4. A new subset of CD4+ T cell, designated Th17, has recently been described. Th17 cells secrete IL-17 but not IFN-y or IL-4. Discuss the development and proposed function, in health and disease, of Th17 cells.
I would expect no fewer than 15-20 papers to be cited. This obviously will depend on the points that you emphasize in your essay. The literature cited mainly should be peer-reviewed primary papers. You only should cite review articles to back up any general points that you make (maximum of 2-4 of your cited papers). You should avoid citing material in non-peer-reviewed internet sites.
I have attached a few reviews that should get you started
