Lice Walker Living as a Woman of Color in America

Using poems by Alice Walker, examine her take on life as a woman of color in America. Also, since I am from Iran, I want aspects of her Womanist ideology expanded to include the plight of Iranian-American women, particularly now that the American government is considering the possibility of taking action against Iran.

Thank you so much!

Also, here are the professors instructions for the paper:
This research project should focus on some aspect of the
material we will deal with in class. That is, it should have to do
with poetry, poetics, poets, poems.

You could research various interpretations of a particular poem, or
poems.

You could research various styles or schools of poetic
interpretation, or perhaps just one of the schools.

You could research the work of a particular poet; the critical
reception or response to a particular poet.

You could research elements of poetic technique. Metaphor, for
example, may have a good deal written about it. Or rhythm.

Whatever you do, this must be a research-oriented essay. You will, of
course, express your own ideas and opinions, but only after
gathering and conveying the ideas and opinions of other writers. You
must have at least 5 sources (you may use more), and at least 3 must
be books/journals.

The St. Martins Handbook is designed to help you do this project.
Familiarize yourself with Part 4, the Research sections, of this
textbook.

NOTICE THAT THIS IS NOT TO BE A BIOGRAPHY OF A POET.
