(a) Pick one set of network relationships and describe how the company structures itself to manage it, what are the involved costs and benefits of the relationships and how it will likely evolve over time (WITH CUSTOMERS AND SELLERS NETWORK)
(b) What are the success and failure factors in the companyas ability to manage its network relationships? How does the company build trust with its larger partners? What about its smaller/weaker partners?
(c) How does the company manage its intellectual capital assets (broadly defined a IP can be embodied in its managers with unique skills and insight into the business)? How does it build value in these assets and how does it exploit the value of these assets?
(d) Recommendations for improving the playeras competitive status as a value creator Based on the broad guidelines above, focus on the following questions in researching and analyzing the company:

Analysis should be written in business-style format a use short paragraphs and even shorter sentences, self-explanatory (i.e. more than one word) headings and sub-headings, copious graphs, tables, and annotations. The judicious use of point-form bullets is also acceptable so long as it adds to clarity of the text. Not to exceed 20 double-spaced pages including illustrations, appendices (if used), references, etc. Sources for all facts must be clearly cited (author and date in text, full reference at the end). When you cite data, the source should be cited and documented. Format the document with 1a? margins all around, 12-point Times-New-Roman font, left aligned or justified, 1a? 2a? indent on first line of each new paragraph.

Try to be as concise and precise as possible, avoiding convoluted sentences and ambiguous statements. If a sentence does not add information or clarity to your analysis, itas probably a sentence that needs to be deleted. It is important that your report is written in good English, so try to improve readability as much as you can before submitting the final product.
Grading Rubric for Class Project
Description of the companyas structure and strategy as it related to the value creating activities given by the value network. A complete answer will provide a description and analysis of how the company came to its current state of affairs, the key issues facing the company, the companyas leadership structure, its strategic position in the industry, the drivers of its revenue streams, and the operating and capital structure supporting its strategy (30% of the project grade).
Description of the industryas network viewed from the perspective of the company. A complete answer will provide a description and analysis of the key players in the network, their roles in the network and how each category of players create value for itself and the other players in the network, how each player appropriates the value that it creates and an analysis of when and why it is not able to fully appropriate that value, and an analysis of the sustainability of each playeras position within the value network (30% of the project grade).
Analysis of the companyas strategy. A complete answer will include a discussion of how the company appropriates the value that it creates and analysis of the value not appropriated by the company. Whether itas value creating activities are sustainable, and why or why not is makes sense for the company to a?leave money on the tablea for its network partners. The complete answer should include an analysis and recommendations, based on the data and prior analyses, of the way forward for the company in terms of what the company should do to better position itself in the network to create more value in a more sustainable fashion (30% of the grade).
Proper use business reporting writing, grammar, spelling, language usage, clarity in exposition, appropriate citations and references to existing literature, analyses, and primary and secondary data sources (10% of the project grade).
