Nalyze the Etiology of Psychopathlogy Disorders Through One Lens
Signature Assignment: Etiology of Psychopathological Disorders
Review the basic principles of the three perspectives from which you will select for your final assignment.
The genetic/neuroscience perspective of psychopathological disorders looks for the causes of abnormal behavior primarily inside the individual. This perspective will concentrate on the functioning of the brain and other systems of the body, and how they affect behavior.
The behavioral/cognitive/emotional focuses on disruptions in thought processes that lead to maladaptive behaviors.
The cultural/social/interpersonal perspective distinguishes between disease, which is viewed as a malfunctioning or maladaptation of biological or psychological processes, and illness, which is interpreted as the personal, interpersonal, and cultural reaction to the disease.
