Nnotated Bibliography Best Practice in Transition
The topic for this research assignment is Best Practice for Students with Disabilities Transitioning to Postsecondary Environments.
i?? For purposes of this assignment, the annotated bibliography must contain four citations from scholarly peer-reviewed journals articles only (for example, journals published by the Council for Exceptional Children CEC) and the articles must have been published within the past 10-12 years.
i?? You need to develop a total of four annotations that focus on best practice in transition related to each of the following four postsecondary areas: 1) employment, 2) postsecondary education, 3) independent/interdependent living or life skills, and 4) community participation. In other words, you will need to find four articles, one with a focus on best practice in employment, one with a focus on best practice in postsecondary education or training, one with a focus on best practice in independent/interdependent living or life skills and, one with a focus on best practice in community participation; cite each article which is then be followed by an annotation.
i?? You need to follow APA guidelines in developing annotated bibliography
i?? Each annotation (excluding the citation) MUST contain a minimum of 150 to a maximum of 250 words.
* each annotation should do three things: summarize, assess, and reflect though you do not write out these as subheadings, as each annotation should be ONE continuous paragraph that contains these three elements.
* Summarize: What is the point of the article? What topics are covered? If someone asked you to tell them what this article is about in a few sentences, what would you say?
* Assess: After summarizing the article, evaluate it. Is it a useful article? If, so how? If not, why not? How does it
compare with other articles in your bibliography? Do you think the information is reliable? Is it this article biased or objective? Why or why not? What do you think is the goal of this article?
* Reflect: Once youve summarized and assessed the source, think about whether this article was helpful to you. How does it help you shape your understanding of transition? Has it changed how you think about issues related to students with disabilities transitioning to postsecondary environments? If so, how and if not, why hasni??t it?
