Nterprise and Business Development (ref to order instructions)

a)Select a successful entrepreneur about whom you are able to obtain relevant and useful information. This may be either:-a well known figure who is featured in the business press.(The UKs best known examples internationally would include Richard Branson and Anita Roddick)
b) an entreprepreneur less generally well known but perhaps an acquaintance-typically a colleague, employer, or family member, ie someone about whom you can gain information, and possibly persaonal access for an interview.
You are required to investigate and analyse the reasons behind your chosen entrepreneurs success. Prepare a report which looks at:
Part A-50% of total marks
A personal profile (age, background,sex,ethnic group, personality traits etc) Use ideas such as those found inUnit 2 of the workbook to critically evaluate the factors which have contributed to the success of the person you have selected.
Part B 50%
Critically appraise the business activities of the entrepreneur you select. You should ensure you analyse wherever appropriate:
1) ChosenBusiness Domain”-the products, services and markets in which the business operates.
2)Which target customers has the entrepreneur selected and why?
3)Any Unique selling point (USP)”-ie perceived added value to the customer
4)Sources of competitive advantage
5) Use of creativity and innovation in any aspect of the business
You should state your opinion(with supporting argument) as to wheather the enterprise will continus to be successful in the next 5 years, and any views you may have on suitable avenues of future business development.
1)Provide a Bibliography at the end of your work
2)Ensure any appendice are relevant and fully referenced in the main body of your report. Don not include unreferneced material downloaded from the internet in your appendice-include sparingly!!
3) you should state as part of an executive summary at the start of your report whether you have any relation or other connection with the entrepreuner you select for your analysis.

Assessment criteria:
As a guide, your work will be marked using the following criteria:
Research 30%
Breath and depth of both secondary and primary data gathered on your targeted subject. Evidence of wider reading on the subject matter
Evaluation 30%
Ability to apply theoretical concepts of entrepreneurship and small business management to a speciafic case
Analysis 30%
Ability to identify and critically appraise causes of commercial success to date, and potential future development.
Presentation 10 %
