1. In a hypothetical population, 25 out of every 100 children are born with attached earlobes. Attached earlobes are the phenotypic expression of the recessive homozygous genotype; the heterozygous and dominant homozygous genotypes are expressed as unattached earlobes. Assume that the assumptions of Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium are met. Calculate:

a) the frequencies of the attached and unattached earlobe alleles in this group,
b) the estimated frequencies of the heterozygous genotype, and
c) the frequency of the dominant phenotype.

Please show your work, and given everything you have calculated above, can you use this information to explain what is happening in the population? Why or why not?
