O you or do you NOT consider the problem solving techniques such as COP, POP, and COMPSTAT as intelligence-led processes?
COURSE TITLE: CRIMINAL JUSTICE INTELLIGENCE AND INFORMATION SHARING
a? Do you or do you NOT consider the problem solving techniques such as COP, POP, and
COMPSTAT intelligence-led processes? In other words are they just crime analysis tools
with little utility for higher level intelligence analysis. This is NOT just a yes/no question. You
should provide support for your opinions. This support can come from the reading provided
over the past few weeks or any other readings you would like to use to support your
opinion. Your grade will be based upon how well you lay out your side of the argument and
what information you use to support your argument.
The graded discussion will cover the material discussed in Weeks 5 through 6. The
material from these two weeks covered various policing strategies to solve and/or reduce
crime. One thing all of these methods have in common is they use information for problem
solving. They all require a data source and trust that the data source is accurate and will
provide the researchers with the information necessary to make informed decisions and
move toward an intelligence process for decision making.
The discussion question is part fact and part opinion. The materials you read for Weeks 5
through Week 6 provided you with a fairly comprehensive overview of the movement both
internationally and in American law enforcement toward the use of information and
intelligence for problem solving.
Hi Steve, I will upload the folders holding these chapters for your reference, that is after submitting thsi order.
