Ocument Analysis_Analyse the Western Australian Duty of Care for Students policy document from the Department of Education

Analyse the Western Australian Duty of Care for Students policy document from the Department of Education (see policies/duty-of-care-for-students.en?oidau.edu.wa.det.cms.contenttypes.Policy-id-3783072)

Discuss the policy in the context of a local primary school, particularly how it impacts on the activities of teachers and how they deal with their students, with other professionals and/or with parents. Your report should describe the main elements of the policy, frequently citing from it, and should contain the following:
a? What was the apparent rationale for writing the policy?
a? What sorts of issues does the policy cover?
a? Why is the policy important?
a? Who is subject to the policys requirements?

The policy will be used to address the following three scenarios;

1. A number of students arrive early to school at about 7:40 am each morning. The first teachers usually arrive about thirty minutes later. Most teachers are aware of the fact that students do arrive early at the school and have been doing so for a long time

2. A teacher privately recruits some of his students for his community football team to play at a near by oval after school. The team consists of many students from the teachers school, so they decide to wear school colours and refer to the team by the schools name in general discussions.

3. A student teacher in her first school experience is asked to watch the class while the class teacher goes to the office approximately 50 metres away to phone a parent about a sick child in the room. There are known to be certain disruptive children in the class and the student teacher has not demonstrated competence in managing this class.

What are the implications of these scenarios in terms of the Duty of Care policy of WA? Describe measures that a school and teacher could take to ensure that the requirements of the policy document are met.
What are the implications for all parties concerned according to the policy?
In your report, you should cite particular sections from the policy document that gives specific detail about what a school and teacher should do in this situation, or similar examples.

The word limit is 1500 words

Please find below some guidelines pertaining to the Document Analysis.
These are the things I want to be structure in the document analysis work.
A. Introduction What is the aim of the report?
1. Specify which policy document (include the link). If you are referring to more than one policy with different links (which I know some states need to do), you need to name them both/all and provide their links.
2. Briefly description of the scenarios. Detailed description not needed here a just a one sentence overview of each scenario.
B. Discussion
1. The Policy
Your report should describe the main elements of the policy, frequently citing from it, and should contain the following:
a). What was the apparent rationale for writing the policy? Why was the policy written?
b). What sorts of issues does the policy cover? An overview of the topics covered in the policy is needed here. Some topics can be grouped together if they follow a similar theme, as long as you structure your paragraph accordingly.
c). Why is the policy important? Why is such a policy necessary in todayas social climate? What does it aim to do?
d). Who is subject to the policys requirements? Whose actions are governed by the policy? Which people are affected by the policy?

2. Scenarios
a? Describe in detail three (3) hypothetical scenarios upon which the policy document would have an impact. Your descriptions need to have enough detail in them to warrant a multi-step action plan, but donat go overboard here as the main focus of this section is a?can you apply the policy to this situation?a
a? Describe measures that a school and teacher could take to ensure that the requirements of the policy document are met. This is a multi-step action plan that is dictated by the policy document. Be explicit here. Iam not looking for a quick overview a you need to describe the plan step-by-step.
a? (For example, if the assignment was dealing with Duty of Care, a typical scenario might be as follows A number of students arrive early to school at about 7:40 am each morning. The first teachers usually arrive about thirty minutes later.)
a? Cite particular sections from the policy document that gives specific detail about what a school and teacher should do in this situation. At each step of the action plan, you need to point out which part of the policy document says that the action should be taking place. Make sure you reference the policy throughout your action plan.
You can address each scenario completely (ie., all of the points above) before moving on to
the next one if you wish.

C. Conclusion
1. Highlight the main points of your report with the corresponding conclusions you made. A concise summary of what you covered with strong concluding statements. Do not introduce any new information in your conclusion.

2. References These need to follow APA format. You must have correct in-text referencing and a correctly formatted reference list at the end of your report. Many of you are practicing this already in your Study Mates tasks. Get this right before assignments are due as marks are allocated for correct referencing format.
Note;
Use headings to organise your ideas. Make sure your ideas flow in a logical sequence. You must write in third person point of view a this means no a?I, we, you, us, my, our....a? statements,please
