In this short report, you will research and observe a community of practice related to knowledge management. Acceptable communities can be found blogging on professional topics, within social media, or as a group within an organization.
In this paper , you must discuss the type of community of practice (CoP), how you believe the CoP is relevant to knowledge management, and briefly discuss the nature of issues and topics discussed within the CoP.

Papers must be two to three pages, APA formatted. Please note that appropriate APA citation is required.

Purpose: To examine and discuss the relevancy of CoPs to knowledge management and the nature of issues and topics kernel to CoP exchange and sharing.

Course Outcome:

Describe knowledge management trends, cultural impacts, and communities of practice in order to support organizational success

Deliverable: Two to three page paper.

2) Search for and identify a community of practice (CoP). Acceptable communities can be found blogging on professional topics, within social media, or as a group within an organization.

3) Discuss the following:

a. the type of community of practice (CoP) you have selected

b. how you believe the CoP is relevant to knowledge management

c. the nature of issues and topics discussed within the CoP

4) Beyond using text, draw information, ideas, and examples from at least two credible, well-founded sources to support and strengthen your discussion. See the Reserved Readings and the Webliography to get started. Cite all sources (see below). Review the Guidelines for Research Sources in Course Content.

5) Cite the text and outside research sources in the paper according to the Source Citation Format under Course Content/Guidelines for Research Sources; for example, (Wenger, 2002, p. 107). Compile and format your Reference List according to APA standards; for example:

Wenger, Etienne, McDermott, Richard, and Snyder, William. (2002). Cultivating communities of practice: A guide to managing knowledge. Cambridge, MA: Harvard Business School Press.

6) Use the following format of headings and subheadings for your paper:

a. Name, course, assignment, date at top of paper (BMGT 305)
b. Title
c. Name of CoP
d. Type of CoP
e. CoP Issues and Topics
f. Key Learning from the Assignment
g. Reference List

7) Use Microsoft Word for your text documents. Papers must be two to three pages in length. APA citation and complete reference format is required.
