Ommunities of Practice Reflection on team work

This, your second assessment, will present you with unique challenges. You will be required to
work as a virtual team to complete this assessment.

This assessment will require you to collaborate within a shared space. I
t will be necessary for
you to agree on the use of a particular collaborative space where you can share, store and
manipulate your work. On one level you can use eLearn to collaborate, however, you may
agree to use other collaborative workspaces such as Go
ogle Docs or other Cloud Based”
platforms to achieve this. The mode of collaboration is up to your group to decide.
The assessment is in two parts which are detailed below.
Part A: Collaborative Project

For this part of the assessment you will work as
part of a virtual team. You are tasked with producing a collaborative paper about communities of practice and their contribution to organisational learning. Your paper should:
a? Contain examples of the existence of communities of practice within organisati
ons and provide a critical discussion which draws upon theoretical and conceptual models to
support this.
a? Seek to contextualise and synthesise the importance of communities of practice within
organisations, the centrality of knowledge to these communities
and the ways such knowledge is used to extend learning.
Your paper should adopt the following structure:

Where appropriate
your paper should attempt to use visual materials within your paper to

For this part of the assessment you will produce an individual reflection of
the skills and capabilities you have developed working as a part of a distributed virtual team. In
particular you will be asked to provide a reflective commentary on the development you have
achieved and its application to future career opportunities.
Your personal reflection should include:
