Consider a short story, a poem, and a play that we have read this semester on the kinds of relationships women have with men in their lives. Do these women accept their roles and positions within marriage or within their social circles? Does the power of the women increase or diminish as the writing moves on toward a conclusion? And finally, how have these three works illustrated the idea that there are two kinds of conscience–one in man and another in woman?
