Onsider why training without evaluation is a risky investment for any organisation.

i?? Training is regarded as an investment
i?? Investment occurs in many forms i?? in-house, on the job, coaching, also job rotation, secondment i?? as well as instructor-le off the job.
i?? 2014 i?? e-learning, collaborative learning, social learning
i?? Much more structure to talent management now i?? future & high potentials
i?? Look to enhance, competence, adaptability, collaboration, knowledge i?? add value to human capital
i?? Management development i?? junior & senior
i?? Apprenticeships and vocational training
i?? Role of union
Much trickier in terms of Evaluation
i?? Objectives achieved?
i?? Skills transferred to workplace?
i?? Cost effective?
i?? Was the training and investment?
i?? Type of measurement used i?? questionnaire, observation, feedback etc.
i?? Level of analysis/vested interest
i?? Improvement?

BUT
Almost impossible to quantify i?? so many variables
Pressure for diversion of funds/recession/strong HR
Culture i?? one off hit v learning organisation

The section C essays will include 3 of the 5 listed in the revision booklet. Guidance notes for each have been included but these are basic. This is the section where you need to undertake most additional work. You need to select which essays you wish to focus on and read widely in order to be able to develop a strong argument and essay. In addition to an introduction I will be looking for you to consider both sides of the question (reasons to agree and reasons to disagree) and to support your points with theory where appropriate. You will need to conclude with a judgement which answers the question

According to instructions by my lecturer
In the essay, i will be looking for-
1.A snappy introduction perhaps a statistic or quotation which captures my interest and makes me want to read on.
2.The body of the essay usually in 2 parts which considers both sides of the question (reasons to agree and reasons to disagree) with reference to support theory at appropriate points.
3. A judgement conclusion i.e. which side of the reasons to agree/disagree you are more inclined to support and why. This is IMPORTANT. (Tipstudents who write all they know about a topic do not score highly It is essential to answer the question and make a judgement based on what you have written in the body of the essay
