PLEASE NOTE I AM A STUDENT NURSE AT THE MANCHESTER ROYAL EYE HOSPITAL.I WORK IN THE OUTPATIENTS DEPARTMENT WITH OTHER QUALIFIED NURSES. REGARDING CARE RECIEVED BY A PATIENT FROM MY PRACTISE AND ITS EFFECTIVENESS.--A PATIENT CAME INTO THE OUTPATIENTS DEPT WITH PAIN AND REDNESS IN THE RIGHT EYE. WE GAVE THIS PATIENT CAREFUL EYE EXAMINATION AND ROUTINE TESTS AND THNE SHE WAS REFERED TO THE DOCTOR WHO GAVE HER A DEFINATE DIAGNOSIS. THE DOCTOR EXPLAINED DIFFERENT OPTIONS IN A MANNOR THAT WAS CLEAR AND UNDERSTANDABLE. IT WAS THEN AGREED THAT A OPERATION WAS NECESSARY. AGAIN PRO AND CONS WERE DISCUSSED AND SHE WAS ASKED IF SHE WOULD LIKE TO UNDRERTAKE THE OPERATION THAT DAY .SHE WAS INTRODUCED TO THE SURGEON WHO WOULD CARRY OUT THE OPERATION. THE NURSES WERE VERY ATTENTIVE AND VERY THOUROUGH WITH PRE OPERATIONAL TESTS . IN MY OPINION COMMUNICATION AND EFFICIENCY IN THE DEPT WAS VERY GOOD WHICH IN TURN GAVE THE PATIENT EXCEPIONAL QUALITY HEALTH CARE.
