Aim: This activity provides opportunity for synthesis of lecture and workshop activities.
Assignment 2 is an 800 word evaluation of the mindfulness based lifeskills component of this topic. The purpose of this assignment is to develop your critical reflection skills. That is, you write about your experiences.
Mindfulness is defined as paying attention in the present moment, without judging what is happening. Mindfulness allows us to learn more about ourselves and how we either react or respond to different situations. It is a life skill that gives us more choice in life.
Throughout this course you will have the opportunity to explore a range of mindfulness strategies. From your direct experience of mindfulness, reflect on the following questions in relation to your study, relationships and life situations remembering that there are no right or wrong answers to these questions just honest exploration.
In this assignment please discuss the following:
(a) How fully have you engaged in this course?
(b) What have you learnt about yourself?
(c) When faced with a challenging situation as a paramedic student and later as a paramedic how may mindfulness assist you?
(d) What have you learnt that you wish to bring into your life?

Assignment 2 should be written in the first person. Therefore, in Assignment 2 you can use personal statements such as a?Ia in your narrative.
