Answer the following four questions, drawing on both published research and examples of organisation practice, to support your answers.
1. Explain and compare and contrast the relative merits of two models (has to be performance and development models)of HRD practice, for use in interventions with two different categories of employees (please choose categories: staff, knowlege workers or apprentice) one of which should be managers. Guidance Candidates should specify the two categories of employees. Any categories are acceptable. They should compare and contrast a minimum of two models of HRD practice and apply each of them to each of their two categories of employees. Models might include for example learning, performance, strategic HRD and critical HRD perspectives and categorisations such as away from work, at work and through work. Clear and justified arguments on the merits of each selected model in relation to each category of employee should be provided.
2.Select two models of cross cultural HRD (international and cultural model (conregent as a organisation and diregent as a national) and discuss the advantages and disadvantages of these models and the relevance of the two models to diversity and talent management. Guidance Candidates should specify two models of cross cultural HRD and discuss the advantages and disadvantages of these. In doing so, the main characteristics of these programmes such as diverse populations in both internal and external labour markets; language and social differences; the notions of a?international managersa and a?transnational managersa etc; should be explained. Candidates should also discuss the relevance of each model to achieving the common organisational aims of diversity and talent management. Focus the answer on talent + cultural diversity.
