Ow concerns of commerce and business spur on the development of mathematics
***Pay special attention to the notes below from the professor!***
For the longer paper (2000 words…the final exam equivalent) be sure you have at least TWO Good sources.
I would like Two, at least, not to be an encyclopedia (or web equivalent) and these two sources should not be generic
books with a title like History of Mathematics”. So good sources, can be from the web, but the math history site at St. Andrews is more or less a
Math History book type source. So look for SOMETHING particular (at least Two)
(with at least three different historical periods mentioned). Also be sure to take examples (to
make your points) from actual historical facts (happenings) not just generic comments about a time or age.
