The essay is for a required college writing class. It must talk about how Jane Eyre s encounters with different aspects of Christianity (as represented by characters like Helen Burns, Mr. Brocklehurst, and St. John) shape her development and decision making through the course of Charlotte Bronte s novel, Jane Eyre. The essay should include the use of at least 5 secondary sources (peer-reviewed journal articles) to support the argument. Each secondary source may be cited briefly, or at length, but their relevance to the essay must be clear. The essay should also include a close analysis of at least two substantial passages from the novel. For this, any quotes/passages used must be cited from The Norton Critical Edition (3rd edition) (edited by Richard J. Dunn) of Charlotte Bronte s Jane Eyre.

A works cited page must also be included, not inclusive of the nine written pages.

The essay needs to be 9 pages in length, double-spaced and set in 12 point Times New Roman.

Thank you.
