Business 101 a Introduction to Business

Purpose: Students will select and discuss a current company including the global environment, management structure and marketing mix. (I choose Wawa.)

Requirements:
1. Final project is required to be a minimum 3 typed pages (12 font, double-spaced). Use headings, bullets, lists, tables, graphs to make work appear business professional.

PART 1 a THE GLOBAL ENVIRONMENT

INTRODUCTION
Select a current company and describe the proposed type of business including: company background/history. (Wawa Inc.)

ECONOMIC CHALLENGES
Explain in detail 3-4 economic factors that have impacted your firmas position over the past year (How have they had an impact on the firm?).

COMPETITIVE CHALLENGES
List 2-3 competitors with similar product/services and describe how they have impacted your companyas growth.
(Royal Farms, Subway, Dunkin Donuts.)

HUMAN RESOURCES
Based on companyas website or other internet sources, please discuss the following

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Describe the 1 most successful product (good/service) provided by the proposed business. Please explain why you think this is the most successful product.
(Coffee good, and Customer Service service.)
TARGET MARKET
Describe the demographic (such as gender, age, income level, etc) of the customers that would purchase the product and therefore make up the target market (Who will buy your product?) (Everyone, anyone, families.)

Product a List the characteristics / desirable features of the product (picture/drawing optional)
(Why will customers buy the product?)
Pricing a Describe how the product will be priced relative to other competitors.
(How much will customers pay for the product?)
