Rauco (A): Forward Integration or Horizontal Expansion

Your report should advocate a specific course of action that the firm ought to take to address the assigned question. Take the role of an inside senior manager who is writing the memo to the executive highlighted in the case. Assume that the executive is familiar with all the facts in the case, thus you do not need to summarize the case. Instead, use facts from the case as rationale for your recommendations. Explain how your recommendations will help the firm achieve its desired goals. You may want to provide some financial projects of what financial impact your recommendations will have along with best-worst-likely scenarios. Your recommendations should be based on a coherent analysis, concepts from readings and a persuasive argument that specifically addresses the assigned question.

The reports will be graded based on the following criteria:
a? Does the report answer the assigned question(s)? Are the recommendations clearly presented? Do they logically follow from the analysis?
a? Does the report incorporate concepts from readings? Are these concepts used appropriately?
a? Is the argument strongly supported by evidence from the case facts and appropriate use of business concepts?
a? Are the risks and challenges of implementing the recommendations evaluated?

The report should be no longer than two (2) single-spaced pages. Exhibits are not included in this page limit. However, if exhibits are used you must refer to them in your analysis. The papers must have at least one-inch margins top and bottom and left and right. The typeface can be no smaller than 10-point Times New Roman font with 1-inch margins.
