THE Aim:
To introduce learners to the property development process and project procurement options. Also to provide learners with a range of techniques to assess project viability and understanding of the influences of site, environmental and location factors on development proposals. Also to develop learners understanding and knowledge in the preparation of design briefs and feasibility studies.

THE Scenario:
AS A DEVELOPER, you have been given a verbal brief by your client, and also been asked to carry out a feasibility study. The client has 2 plots of land he wishes to develop 1 in an urban environment, the other rural.

THE FITNESS FOR PURPOSE
CONTENT & QUALITY EXPECTATIONS
CONSIDER *RISKS* involved, AND how they might be managed.
With regards to the feasibility study, MAKE A LIST OF POINTS YOU WOULD NEED TO CONSIDER, and EXPLAIN, with examples. The list will be general to any proposal. STATE any assumptions made
DISCUSS the potential environmental impact a development can have on the surrounding environment, and state possible suggestions to avoid such impact GIVE EXAMPLES.
EXPLAIN the role of the local planning authority and state the relevant documents a developer should be aware of (developers pre application advice planning/building ergs etc)
