Rgumentative writing on Racepolitics relations
in the final paragraph of Obamas essay (A more perfect union ), he writes, But it is where we start . It is where our union grows stronger. and as so many generations have come to realize over the course of two hundred and twenty-one year since a band of patriots signed that document in Philadelphia, that is where the perfection begins.(Obama 313)forty-five years before Mr.Obama wrote his essay on race relations, the rev. Martin Luther King Jr . wrote (from his Jail cell) a poignant letter of hope to a group of white clergy in segregated Alabama. He ended his plea with these words: Let us all hope that the dark clouds of racial prejudice will soon pass away and the deep fog of misunderstanding will be lifted from our fear-drenched communities, and in some not too distant tomorrow the radiant stars of love and brotherhood will shine over our great nation with all their scintillating beauty”(king 301).
What have these two prolific writers/humanitarians relations in this country? For example , though Dr.King and Mr.Obama wrote 45 years apart, are their pleas similar? are they, indeed, arguing passionately about the same plight?
When you reflect on this question, use the evidence presented in their stories, respectively, to support your argument. Do not simply paragraph their work or Summarize.
