Riminology; criminological research methods

Hello!

The writer of this assignment must have their Ph.D. in CRIMINOLOGY (not criminal justice, or any other sociological field).

This assignment is for my Ph.D comprehensive exams and requires someone well versed in criminological research methods. The direction taken on the paper must be criminologically based. The references used need to be from the social sciences…and drawn heavily from the criminological field if possible.

THE QUESTION:

What is needed to be able to make causal inferences from non-experimental data?”

Although there needs to be at least 10-15 references, the following are requried:

1) Experimental and Quasi-Experimental Designs for Generalized Causal Inference (2002) by Shadish, Cook, and Campbell

2) Quasi-Experimentation: Design and Analysis Issues for Field Settings (1979) by Cook and Campbell

3) There is also a chapter in a book entitled Causal Inference for Social Data”…but I am not sure on the title of the book. I will look into this and get back to the writer. (unless they find it before me! 🙂

*There are also some books from Sage Publications that might be helpful (from their series: Quantitative Applications in the Social Sciences) such as Causual Modeling, 2nd edition by Asher and The Logic of Causal Order by Davis
