Rowth strategies to achieve competitive advantage: A Case study of XYZ Power Utility pursuing growth objectives

MBA Dissertation Proposal
TOPIC: Growth strategies to achieve competitive advantage:
A Case study of XYZ Power Utility pursuing growth objectives

Initially my project intended to discuss and analyse The Ansoffs product and market matrix as a strategic tool in pursuit of business growth objectives.
However my tutors comments were as follows;
This looks okay in general, though it is advisable to avoid focusing solely on Ansoffs matrix. There will be the opportunity for you to use other sources and theories too, including more recent theory, whilst still keeping the title you have chosen. An initial search of literature on this topic will give you some ideas.

So I am taking heed of the tutors comments in an attempt to build the argument to make case for the research. Whilst focus is on academic concepts, I intended to locate my research in the context of XYZ, a wholly government owned national power utility in a developing economy whose growth objectives are in response to the need to remain competitive. I have chosen the organisation mainly because of ease access to information and also potential co-operation from managers most of whom I have worked with during my past ten years of employment in the organisation. Any further suggestions that may help improve are welcome
