a? Select some, at least four, passages from different chapters in the Lehrer text about art that you wish to discuss (mark them clearly). You may DISAGREE with text or DEVELOP it further (formulate and defend a theory of art based on the readings). The object of this question is to exhibit your understanding of four chapters from the text, relate this to philosophy, and then illustrate your understanding and support your thoughts by appeal to works of art.

a? Find works of art (at least three) that illustrate the following aspects of a work of art and explain how the work achieves what it does in terms of exemplar representation of content: (present the picked artworks clearly)
1. A work of art that is abstract that illustrates the value of the content as form.
2. A work of art that figurative that illustrates the value of the content because it changes or reconfigures how you think or feel about the content in the work.
3. A work of art that illustrates the value of presenting you with content that you value because it changes how you think or feel about the world outside the work of art including yourself.
4. A work of art the reconfigures or changes how you think about art.
Make it clear in your answer how the exemplars of experience represent the content of the work of art and how self-trust, truth and autonomy are involved in the interpretation of the content within the work of art and the transfer of it to the world outside.

Rt, Self & Knowledge Aesthetics Book Review and Thought

Read the first six chapters of the book (see attached files; DO NOT SHARE THE FILES PLEASE ) and bring in material from the book to answer the following questions:br /
1. Explain the role of exemplar representation (exemplarization) in how we know what our conscious states are like, what a work of art is like, what representation is like, what perception is and what we are like. Explain as clearly as you can, preferably with examples (artworks), why verbal description cannot give us complete knowledge of what these things are like.br /
2. There is emphasis on the role of artworks to change our experience of the world, of others and of ourselves, for example, by revealing, communicating, expressing or articulating some idea, feeling, force or emotion. Write an essay explaining how the world of art changes us, the receivers and creators, and our perception of the world outside of art. Add you own thoughts. The more chapters you deal with the better, but try to unify your thoughts around some central theme.br /
