Word case study about a patient requiring mechanical ventilation.

The aim of this assignment is to provide a reflective critical analysis of a case study

detailing the care of a patient requiring mechanical ventilation. The case study documents the acute deterioration in respiratory

function of a patient presenting with Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS).

The main focus of the assignment will be the critical analysis of literature relating to

the knowledge and skills applied by nurses to optimise mechanical ventilation and

the decisions regarding the physical positioning of the patient.

Within the discussion should be reflection on what you have learned from the experience and how you will apply this new knowledge to future nursing practice. An appendix may be used to describe the clinical context (e.g. past medical history, ABG results, ventilation settings) with the essay focused on critically analysing the case.
